Drive XRA from Claude Code
Connect XRA to Claude Code over MCP: clone a site, follow the build, and pull the source down to edit locally.
XRA speaks MCP, so Claude Code can run the engine directly: ask it to clone a site, and the capture happens on our machines while you keep working. When the build finishes you pull the source down and edit it like any other project.
Connect
Create a key in Settings → API keys, then run this once in any project:
claude mcp add --transport http xra https://app.xracode.com/api/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer xra_sk_..." There is nothing to install. The server is hosted, so your machine never needs Chromium, disk space or the twenty minutes a large capture can take.
What you can ask for
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
clone_site | Rebuilds a site as its own codebase. Returns a job to follow, not a finished site — a capture takes minutes. Spends one build from your monthly allowance. |
clone_status | Stage, progress and, once finished, the addresses the build produced. |
list_clones | Every site on your account, with its addresses. |
download_clone | Packages the source and returns a link good for one hour, so you can edit it locally. |
Editing is deliberately not in that list. You are already in an editor with the whole project open — that is a better place to change code than a chat tool call.
A session, end to end
You: clone stripe.com for me
Claude: [clone_site] Started. Captures take a few minutes.
You: how's it going?
Claude: [clone_status] Refining, 60% — 14 pages captured.
...
Claude: [clone_status] Done. https://stripe-site.vercel.app
You: pull the source down so I can change the pricing page
Claude: [download_clone] Packaged — downloading and unpacking now. Keys
A key carries your plan and its limits, and acts as you: it reaches your clones and no one else's. The plaintext is shown once, when you create it — afterwards only a prefix is stored, so a lost key is replaced rather than recovered. Revoking one in Settings takes effect immediately.
Send it as Authorization: Bearer xra_sk_.... The same key works
for anything else you want to call from your own code.
Other clients
The endpoint is plain MCP over streamable HTTP at
https://app.xracode.com/api/mcp, so any MCP client that speaks
remote transport can use it — the claude mcp add line above is
just the shortest way in.
